I was jack-assing around the internet, trying to come up with a decent set of goals and things that I wanted to accomplish for my previous entry. During the course of my travels, I found several independent entities raving about how thought-provoking and life-changing one particular set of 50 Questions that will free your mind are. After a few references, I was finally intrigued enough to follow one of the links and see these amazing questions for myself.

Spoiler Alert: They kind of suck. They are not at all what they were hyped up to be, but it's exactly the sort of inanity I like to indulge in as the calendar changes, so I'm making another post.

Then I was going to do the regular question meme thing that I try and do every year but I got bored.

I still think this is funny, though, so: The First Sentence of the First Post per Month:
January 18th, 2009: I've been trying to get The Boy to watch DVDs of the early '90's Batman cartoons in an effort to put some distance between us and Tom and Jerry and goddamn Charlotte's Web with some success.
February 2nd, 2009: I understand if you're bored to shit of the minutia of our weekend, but it was a good one and, while I have less to say about Sunday, I want to keep track of The Weekend where Everything Rocked with some quick notes.
March 13th, 2009: I used to be a connoisseur of the intarwubs.
April 5th, 2009: Hunter: What do you call a brain that eats dogs and scissors instead of food?

Documentary on DIY Zines and Comix by Lisanne McTernan. Includes some footage from the House of 12 monthlies--I mean monthly comix jam. She caught me right in the middle of drawing an anal-sex-and-talking-sausage gag.

sapphire_kun had a "Iron Chef" competition wherein everybody had to use the secret ingredient chili peppers, as chosen by clawed_my_face. I won with my famous grilled cheese. Here's the spin:

Iron Chef Grilled Cheese
Take 2 slices of any sort of artisan bread, cut thickly (in this case I used 3 Cheese bread), and spread on both slices a 2-to-1 mixture of pesto sauce and green chile (in the can, although fresh is also good!). Place cheese (a sharp Cheddar, or a mix that includes Cheddar is best) on sides with spread and two halves together. In frying pan, melt butter of desired amount (don't use margarine, it's just not the same) and add a dash of red pepper flakes to the melted butter and place the sandwich in the pan and cook on both sides until golden brown and the cheese has melted ( I will add a little bit of butter to the uncooked side before flipping, but if you want to use less butter, that is your prerogative.). Enjoy with a nice bowl of your favorite soup!

For the New Year I'm giving up on Too Fat and embracing the twin strengths of American storytelling, BONERZ & EXPLOSIONZ!

BONERZ & EXPLOSIONZ will be pornographically overheated pulse-pounding action for today's discerning internet reader. 2010 belongs to BONERZ & EXPLOSIONZ!

We were finishing breakfast and Hunter and I were deeply engaged in the following exchange:

Hunter: You're a big bo-bo-bo-bo-bo!
NotBatman: No, You're a big bo-bo-bo-bo-bo-bo!
Hunter: Well, you're the biggest bo-bo-bo-bo-bo-bo-bo-bo!

This had been going on for a while with no end in sight, so I decided to break out of the vicious cycle of bo-bo-bo.

NotBatman: Did you just call me fat?
Hunter: Yeah! And every time you ask me a question, the answer is going to be 'yeah!'
NotBatman: Am I the Greatest Person Ever?
Hunter: ... Crap if I know...

And oh how we laughed.

Happy New Year! May we all be preserved Dick Clarkian Zombies in the future.

I want to create a list of goals. I don't have a clear timeline in mind. These are not "New Years Resolutions," in spite of the suspicious timing. (I've never been a fan of New Years Resolutions, I think they're fucky and stupid. But that's just me.) This is more like a tally of accomplishments I would like to start working towards.

Some of these are ongoing, some of these are one-time things. Some of these could be completed in the next year, certainly not all of them. Some of them are grand, some most of them are stupid. Some of these I should be working on right now, some of these I can't start yet for a variety of reasons, but they're still important.

Honestly, I'm not sure what I'm doing here, anymore. This seemed so damned important just yesterday...

Here's an oddity: Back in 2005 I wrote a post about being Restless. It's still an important piece of myself (to me, you might not give a shit) that I come back to from time to time. It occurs to me now that I've done most everything in there now. Not quite to the scale that leads to Ultimate Satisfaction and Tranquility, so I'm still working on it, but pretty close. It's helped take some of the edge off, I think.

So here's a new list of things to accomplish.

I can hope that it serves me just as well.

I just had a dream where I merged with Stephen Colbert and sucked up an oozing evil presence that was trying to take us over, but we had previously kicked its ass (before merging) and turned into goo. But now we were all goo(d) and the evil presence didn't know what hit it.

I guess that's what happens when you eat Taco Bell before sleeping. I need to do that more often.

Hello nsfw. I took 2009 off to work on my career and get my family / life stuff together. 2010 will be me getting me together. Art wise mostly. I would also like to buy some rugs for my hallway and living room. Here is the first of many doodles I will be doodling trying to get my shit together to draw some comics. No LJ cuts sorry.
